Taking action is how you GIVE your gift and live a life of true service to yourself and others. And that doesn’t mean that your life’s work has to be something that seems grand and noble. The real key to being of service and living your purpose is simply to do what you LOVE to do — whatever it may be.

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.

the cold metal against my skin
and the salty tears upon my cheeks.
you can’t kiss away the pain this time.
my eyes dilate, 
holding you there in my mind.
“don’t

i whisper.
but your black heart cuts into my skin,
killing my dreams and
keeping them for yourself.
leaving me here in the dust
you feel no loss or regret or pain-
did you stop to think about me?
how could you just walk away?
i can still feel your arms around me
holding me in the moment,
never letting go.
and through all the lies
you promised me forever,
you promised me always,
you promised me everything-
but left me here with nothing but these broken memories.

The best way to forget ones self is to look at the world with attention and love. 

When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and bring joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.
